Greek Chicken Wrap is definitely my favorite kind of meal to prepare for myself and my family. I enjoy eating meals that are wholesome and healthy. This particular Greek chicken wrap is very easy to prepare as it only needs to be cooked on the grill. In addition, the ingredients used to prepare the wrap are very simple and not expensive.
To prepare the Mediterranean chicken wrap, start with a piece of freshly grilled chicken breast. Place the chicken in a large bowl along with the desired amounts of the following ingredients. Greek salad & chicken jam or honey mustard on the side; optional: cucumber slices, scallions, red bell pepper, onions, and olives. This is an excellent way to prepare for parties when you just need a meal ready when you get home from work or when you’re running out that door for football practice.
We enjoy eating Greek salads at the office so the hummus & garlic dip were a welcome addition to our Mediterranean chicken wrap. The dip is made using chickpea paste along with lemon juice, olive oil, chopped tomatoes, chopped cucumbers, red bell pepper, onions, and garlic. We used the cucumbers to garnish our wrap with a few strips of skin on the bottom and up about a quarter inch outside of the chicken. The onions and garlic were garnished with pepper and olive oil.
To prepare the wrap, heat up your favorite taco seasoning, such as cumin, chili powder, and powdered black pepper. Along with the seasoning, toss your chicken in taco seasoning and wrap in foil. Place the tortilla on the grill until the grilling surface is smokey and then add your Mediterranean ham and let cook for 3 minutes on each side. Once done, remove the ham from the grill and place on a plate.
Mediterranean Chicken Wrap Variations
To finish off our Mediterranean chicken wraps, we served them with freshly squeezed fresh guacamole and the sweet & sour mix on the table. I also placed some lettuce leaves on the plates for people who are not so big fans of Greek salads. Usually I have about 2 cups of romaine lettuce in my refrigerator, so I added that to the wrap and served it with the hummus.
These wraps are absolutely delicious. The ingredients combine well to give you a healthy, yet tasty meal that you can enjoy with your family. They are so easy to prepare and the best thing about them is that they are very low calorie, which makes them just perfect for dieters. Because they use chickpeas instead of refined grains, they are filled with good, wholesome protein that keeps you feeling full for a longer period of time.
In order to add even more flavor to the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap, you can top it with some black pepper, chopped tomatoes, onions, olives, chopped pickles, cilantro, radishes, red bell pepper, cucumber, parsley, and reduced-fat sour cream. To make sure there is enough hummus, I set the jar on the counter and put about two tablespoons in at a time into each individual cavity. Then all you do is fill up the jar with ice cubes and let the mixture cool down before you serve it. You’ll have a tasty dinner that your whole family will love.
